Diagnostic Center
All thirteen diagnostics, when to use each one, and how re-running them over time turns a score into a trend.
The thirteen
One diagnostic looks across everything and twelve look closely at one area. Take the comprehensive one first; it tells you which of the others are worth your time. If you have not run it yet, read Running your first diagnostic before this chapter.
| Diagnostic | Answers |
|---|---|
| Comprehensive Organizational Health | Where you are strong and vulnerable across all 13 domains. 52 questions. |
| Revenue Resilience and Diversification | How dependable your revenue is and what could disrupt it. |
| Funding Readiness | Whether you can identify, win, manage, and report on external funding. |
| Organizational Capacity | Whether you can deliver what you have already committed to. |
| Board and Governance | Governance structure, board composition, oversight, and succession risk. |
| Program and Impact | Program design, delivery quality, outcomes, and evaluation. |
| Risk and Compliance | Legal standing, financial controls, safety, data privacy, incident readiness. |
| Earned-Income and Social Enterprise Readiness | Whether you are ready to design, price, and sustain an earned-revenue offer. |
| Hybrid Model Readiness | Readiness to build a hybrid nonprofit and for-profit structure. 50 questions. |
| Scaling Readiness | Whether a proven model can grow without breaking quality, finances, or mission. |
| Strategic Execution | Whether your strategy is guiding decisions, not just whether a plan exists. |
| Property Acquisition Readiness | Whether you can secure, finance, improve, occupy, and sustain a property. |
| Data and Evidence Readiness | Whether your information is accurate, governed, and actually used. |
Which one to take next
After the comprehensive diagnostic, let the result choose. Failing that:
- You just lost, or are about to lose, a major funder. Revenue Resilience.
- You keep applying and not winning. Funding Readiness.
- Everyone is exhausted and things are slipping. Organizational Capacity.
- Your board is quiet, or all of them joined the same year. Board and Governance.
- A funder has asked for outcomes you cannot produce. Program and Impact, then Data and Evidence.
- You are thinking about a building. Property Acquisition Readiness.
- You have a plan nobody refers to. Strategic Execution.
Confidence and completeness
Every result carries a confidence figure and a completeness percentage alongside the score. They exist so a score built on half-answered questions cannot present itself as the same thing as one built on all of them.
Re-running over time
Results are kept, not overwritten. A second run six months later gives you a trend, which is far more useful to a board than any single number. Re-run the comprehensive diagnostic about twice a year, and a focused one whenever you have finished the work it prompted.
