The volunteer portal

Volunteers get their own portal and never enter your main workspace. They see their shifts, log their hours, complete their own paperwork, and see nothing else. A volunteer account uses no seat.

Screening before placement

Roles carry their own screening requirements, and what a role requires depends on what it involves. A volunteer sorting donations and a volunteer driving young people to appointments are not the same risk, and the software does not treat them as though they were.

Hours, and why they matter more than they look

  • Volunteer time is a real match for many grants. Unrecorded hours are money you did not claim.
  • Recorded hours make the case for a paid post. "We need a coordinator" is an opinion. "Volunteers gave 2,400 hours and we lost four of them to poor scheduling" is an argument.
  • The clock handles breaks, lunch and end of day so a long shift is recorded as it was actually worked rather than as a round number somebody guessed at afterwards.
